Commissioning

Commissioning your own special piece is an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Whether it is for your home, office or yacht, or a special gift for a life event, the process involves just a few simple steps.

1. Discovery & Brief
Join us for a wonderful discovery experience at our boutique gallery in the heart of the Sydney CBD. Here you will see exquisite pieces from our exclusive collection and discover rare and precious timbers, stunning shagreen and leathers and beautiful handmade hardware.

Tell us about your vision or let us lead you through a range of ideas to suit your unique requirements. If your project is for an existing space, we welcome your invitation to visit, if practical, so that we may gain a deeper understanding of your requirements.

Budgets are important and we will work with you to create the best possible result within your budget.

2. Concept & Presentation
Once we have an understanding of your design needs, we will prepare initial concept sketches and an indication of costs for your consideration. It’s at this stage that modifications can be made.

3. Making your piece
When the conceptual design is approved, we will then proceed to technical drawings, details of materials and costings and provide you with an estimated completion date. Once this is accepted and signed, the transformation from a design on paper to a three dimensional work of art begins.

This wonderful journey may take three to eight months but may be shorter or longer depending on the size of the project. We will provide you with comprehensive photographic reports throughout the creation of your piece and welcome you to visit our workshop in Toowoomba at any time during this entire process.

Your piece will be signed and numbered and have a registered certificate of authenticity.

4. Delivery and Installation
Upon completion, we will provide you with further detailed photographs and arrange for your piece to be professionally packed, crated and shipped anywhere in the world. Where possible, we personally supervise installation and show you all the intricate details and secrets of your piece. We recommend that you only tell your most trusted family and legal adviser of details of any secret compartments.

5. Commissioning terms
Upon acceptance of the conceptual design, a 10% deposit is required and we will then proceed to the final design package. This includes technical drawings, details of materials, costings and estimated completion date. Once the final design is approved and signed off, a 50% instalment is payable. Depending on the size of the project, further progress payments may be payable upon provision of detailed photographic reports. Your final instalment is payable upon completion and then we will arrange delivery.
